A. Introduction

The purposes of this contest are to promote the use of International Mahjong Rules and to encourage users to help improve the rule quality.

International Mahjong Rules is advertised as "World's FIRST comprehensive set of written rules of mahjong, governing every step of play." The author is so confident in this belief that he is offering a prize in cash to anyone who can successfully prove any inconsistency or incompleteness of the rule set. This in effect will, as expected, help to maintain its highest possible standards as further developments and improvements continue.

B. Your participation

International Mahjong represents a pioneer concept in the games of mahjong. One of the objectives of the concept is to promote International Mahjong Rules to become a worldwide standard of mahjong games. More details of various developments related to International Mahjong may be found at the International Mahjong Official Website ("IMJ Official Website", located at iMahjong.com). You can participate in the developments related to International Mahjong in a number of ways. In brief, the two choices listed below are readily available to you.

(1) Use International Mahjong Rules in your games

There is no pre-set qualification for the use of International Mahjong Rules. Simply have your playgroup adopt the International Mahjong Rules in your mahjong games. You can still use all of your existing mahjong facilities to play by the International Mahjong Rules. Since it is under an exclusive brand name and is maintained under one management, the International Mahjong Rules can always be uniquely identified and communicated, universally. This will help individual players or playgroups, usually isolated, to play and compete with other players and playgroups openly without any uncertainty or misunderstanding in rules. International Mahjong Rules is available online at the IMJ Official Website.

Organizers of tournaments or events of mahjong are also encouraged to adopt International Mahjong Rules as their official rule set. International Mahjong Rules is comprehensive, ready to use and is available online. Participants from around the world can "get on the tables" right away and organizers can save their resource in planning and promoting the event rather than spending excessive time and effort in dealing with and answering to rule inquiries.

(2) Help to improve the rule quality

International Mahjong Rules is a proprietary property, which is developed for use by the public. You can help to improve the rule quality in two ways:

(a) Submit to the International Mahjong Official Website
You can submit your comments or suggestions about the rule quality via our online submission form located at iMahjong.com (follow links "The Rules" > "Rule Questions"). Your submission will be kept on our records for consideration when we come to a stage to review our rule set. Please note: No benefits whatsoever will be rewarded for submissions of this type.

(b) Participate in the Quest To Win Contest
Raise your questions about and challenge International Mahjong Rules for any inconsistency or incompleteness. A prize in cash will be awarded if you are successful in your challenge. Refer to section C for further details.
