(A) IMJ Standard Scoring Chart

The table on the right shall be used as the Standard Scoring Chart in all competition events. (Art. 30.1.)

(B) Recommended prerequisite settings

The following prerequisite settings ("Article 7.1 Settings") are recommended in all competition events where scores of players are recorded for the purposes of establishing personal achievements. These settings are also recommended in all private or other events if possible.

  1. The length of an event shall be set to last for eight rounds only;
  2. Games shall allow for winning hands of any rank (grade value), i.e., there shall be NO restriction to the lowest and highest ranks allowed for a winning hand in each game;
  3. The total initial scores assigned to each player shall be 20,000 mados; and
  4. The final scores shall be recorded on a "per four round" basis. (That is, a player's scores on hand at the end of the event shall minus 20,000 and then divided by 2 (assuming 8 rounds have been played), and the result shall be recorded as the final scores of the player in that event. The final score may be in plus or minus sign; amount below decimal point may be omitted.)

(C) Recommended colours of chips

A complete set of chips shall contain a total of 40 chips in green, 36 in red, 36 in yellow and 8 in purple. According to the "Article 7.1 Settings", at the beginning of an event each player shall receive: 10 x green (10 mados each), 9 x red (100 mados each), 9 x yellow (1000 mados each) and 2 x purple (5000 mados each), for a total of 20,000 mados.
